Many Ontario HVAC contract disputes — particularly where the unpaid balance is below the $35,000 limit — are pursued in Small Claims. The procedural rules are simpler than Superior Court but the deadlines still bind.
Defences based on the 2018 CPA amendments apply equally in Small Claims as in Superior Court.
